A Typical Day at All Saints

School day runs from 9:00 am - noon

Arrival Routines – These daily routines help the children become more independent with each passing year.  Our oldest children are even “signing in” in the morning.

Center Time  9:00 - 9:30 - Children choose from a variety of centers, including the Art & Writing Center, Block Center, Book Nook, Science Center, Fine Motor Skills Center, Sensory Table, Dress-up costumes, Housekeeping, Listening Center, Puzzles, and more.  Teachers also use this time to work with children individually and in small groups.

Circle Time  9:30 - 10:00 - Teachers lead the children in songs, rhymes, literacy activities, math games, and reading aloud of classic children’s literature.  Children are actively involved in their learning . . . taking turns moving felt board characters for a story, “jumping” the number of days in the month, graphing a favorite flavor of ice cream, and telling friends about a special object brought for Show & Tell.

Snack Time  10:00 - 10:30 - After bathroom breaks and hand washing, children sit family style to eat healthy snacks brought from home.  Teachers highlight nutrition concepts, and encourage language development as children chat with their friends.

Special Event  10:30 - 11:00 - Each week, classes will experience a variety of "special events". These will include Chapel for our 3's and 4's, weekly Music Class for each of our age groups, and visits to the Studio, Rain Room and S.T.E.A.M. lab.

Group Time  11:00 - 11:30 - This will vary from day to day . . . an art project, a science experiment, a dramatic re-enactment of a story, music class, a cooking project, a gardening project, and so much more.

Outdoor Play – Often this will take place on our large, shaded playground, but classes also participate in parachute games, relay races, obstacle courses, or choose to take a nature hike or play in our Outdoor Classroom.  In inclement weather, children engage in active play in the Rain Room, our indoor play space.
